Before: The HeroQuest barbarian–one of the first miniatures we ever painted–alongside a more recent painting of the infamous Chaos Warlock.

After many years our HeroQuest Barbarian is done. Is it perfect? No. Far from it. But it is an improvement…

We were inspired by this video to bring the Barbarian up to a better standard.

First we used Pine Sol to strip paint off the figure–using a toothbrush and a toothpick to get the stubborn paint in the recesses of the figure.

We the primed in black, and started painting. Tanned Skin and Tanned Highlight, by Reaper Miniatures, played a prominent role in the figure’s skin stone.

We gave the figure blue eyes as an experiment, and to better the nature of the figure.

Now we’re satisfied.

Maybe we’ll paint the HeroQuest dwarf next.

The Barbarian faces down a band of Chaos Warriors. Where’s the Dwarf, Elf, and Wizard when you need them?
