Unlike The X-Files: Album, this is a good soundtrack.
Even so, it has a bit too many rises and falls in the music for my taste, but you can use the songs for key moments in your games. You just have to make sure you have an ear for pacing.
“Crossroads” is a good “montage” piece. The game master want to move the game along in dramatic way as the players hunt for a key piece of information or person, so you describe series of short encounters to keep the story moving.
“Soda Pop” brings about some nice tension and action.
And then there’s the music where Mulder and Scully almost kiss which has a nice slow build.
If you need some music for key dramatic encounters and action scenes if you game, The X-Files: Fight the Future movie score is for you. If you’re looking background ambient music, you should look elsewhere.
